Lake Manyara National Park

Located 130km West of Arusha. The Park has an area of 648km2 (402sq miles) of which 220km2 (136 sq miles) is covered by lakes and 428 km2(265 sq miles) is dry land; is in base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and comprises of forest, woodland, grasslands, and swamps; game includes tree-climbing lions, baboons, buffalo, zebra, hippos, giraffe, wildebeest, and over 350 species of bird, storks and flamingos.

Mt. Kilimanjaro National Park

Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 meters, a dormant volcano, with the diameter at its base being 40 miles; the two main snow capped peaks are Kibo and Mawenzi; best times for climbing are between August and October & January and March; the Park has been a game reserve since 1921 and was designated a National Park in 1973. The rainforest is home to many species of animals including leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo, and vast species of birds can also be seen.

Ngorongoro Crater

Regarded as a natural wonder of the world (the 8th) and has been declared a World Heritage Site; is the largest intact crater in the world at 610 meters deep, 16kms across and covering an area of 540 squire kilometers; teaming with wildlife, with virtually all the big game species found here including, zebra, wildebeest, black rhino, antelope, elephants, giraffe, buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard. The area is also an ornithologists' paradise, with the thousands of flamingos wading in the shallows of Lake Magadi and hundreds of other species of birdlife; the optimum time of the year to visit is from December to May when the spectacular sight of the Serengeti migration usually takes place.

Ruaha National Park

Tanzania's second largest park covering an area of over 13,000 squire kilometers and the worlds largest elephant sanctuary; is peaceful and spectacular in its unspoilt wilderness; game includes elephant, buffalo, giraffe, cheetah, lion, leopard, a wide variety of antelope including the Greater and Lesser Kudu and the Roan and Sable antelopes; there are also over 465 recorded species of birdlife in the area.

Serengeti National Park

This is Tanzania's oldest park, covering an area of over 14,760 squire kilometers; Serengeti is the country's most popular and famous park, meaning "endless plain", in Masai; is one of the highest concentration game sites in Africa; is most famous for its vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and antelope, as well as "the Serengeti Lions"; best viewing months are from December to March; the Serengeti annual migration takes place heading North to South in October – November, and back South to North between the months of April and June.
